Involving users, always beneficial?

(Alain L'Hostis) #1

A recent research shows that the development of car sharing at a significant level in a large agglomeration, Paris, does not generates the environment benefits one could expect. Indeed car-sharing new users would for a significant part come from public transport users and other active modes users. In this perspective it appears that solutions based on more involvement of users, as in car-sharing, opposed to other classical transport modes should be carefully assessed in terms of sustainable mobility.
